Wedding Ceremonies and Jazz

In my last post, I briefly discussed the idea of using Jazz music in weddng ceremonies.

Many people are traditionalists and would prefer more traditional music for their ceremony, however, everyone's different and some people like to have something a little more unique, while not losing the elegance of the ceremony.

Our most popular tunes for wedding ceremonies are At Last, It Had To Be You, and The Way You Look Tonight. All 3 songs are classics themselves, and convey a message of love. They also have beautiful melodies, and ultimately, a beautiful song will work in virtually any setting.

In the past, some people I've performed for have asked for songs without the love theme. I've performed "What A Wonderful World", which is a classic song but not necessarily one of a couple's love. Another is the tune "Killer Joe", which has a great pulse for struttin' down the aisle with your new spouse.

Having a mix of classical music and jazz music works well too. We have melded more classical piano-based works into ceremonies as well as jazz numbers. We are fortunate to have a strong piano player who can cross-over between both genres.

It is ultimately your day for your ceremony, so you should have the music you want. If you want to have something "outside the box", please feel free to contact us - we've done it before :)
